Global Forum 2017 was “one of the best”

Multiple people described this year’s DNA Global Forum as “one of the best” in the DNA’s 20-year history.

More than 100 delegates from 24 nations convened at a camp in Prescott, Arizona, USA for four days of fellowship, sharing stories of God at work, thanking God for what He has done, and reflecting on one’s life and ministry.

“I gained many powerful and practical ideas that I can implement in my context. I traveled as far as anyone else, and it was well worth it,” said one participant.

Delegates grouped by region took turns leading worship. The Africa delegation is always lively!

Another said, “I’m encouraged through the work of the global DNA family and will do all that God allows me to do to spread the DNA virus.”
On Wednesday night, John Stonestreet shared his thoughts on how a modern worldview shift in the West has impacted the whole world.

Guest speakers included John Stonestreet (president of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview) and Art Lindsley (vice president of Theological Initiatives at The Institute for Faith, Work and Economics), and great wisdom was shared by DNA delegates from five continents.

Attendees enjoyed hearing from newer DNA partners like Ena Richards with Work 4 a Living/Siya Sebenza in South Africa, Amanda Sanchez with Trinity Education in East Africa and Peru, and Mauricio Cunha with CADI in Brazil. All were once again encouraged and amazed at how God has allowed the DNA messages to be contextualized and used for great things in varying contexts.

Many new friends were made and partnerships were formed around daily meals.

Existing friendships were strengthened around the campfire, and many delegates made s’mores for the first time!

Scott Allen, Bob Moffitt and Darrow Miller reflected on God’s goodness to the DNA global network over the past two decades.

The next DNA Global Forum tentatively is planned for March 11-15, 2019 in Bogota, Colombia. To be notified as plans develop, subscribe to our e-newsletter and follow us on Facebook!

Fighting Shadows with Jon Tyson

Today, as men, we need to do more than understand the largely lost concept of biblical masculinity. We need freedom. Most men are trapped by “shadows” or lies and have a difficult time expressing vulnerability, making us familiar with the grip of isolation and loneliness. This is not the life God intended. Today, we had the honor of sitting down with author and pastor Jon Tyson to hear about his upcoming book, Fighting Shadows: Overcoming 7 Lies that Keep Men from Becoming Fully Alive, which he co-authored with Jeff Bethke. This discussion will touch everyone as we shed light on these crucial lies, explore how they can be overcome, and joyfully do our best to present a better vision for masculinity that is oriented around our Lord and Savior.

The Gospel Has No Significance for Society

Christian nationalism was recently denounced by John MacArthur as a faulty viewpoint. He says things will get continually worse on Earth. Unfortunately, this view cultivates apathy and even discourages cultural influence. In contrast to this view, Christ teaches us to pray: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” If things will only get worse, then what was the justification for the profoundly positive influence of Christian leaders like William Wilberforce? And why should we, as Christians, work to eradicate slavery, human trafficking, and abortion? Wherever God has placed you, whether in a family, school, political office, or bakery, you are called to faithfully represent Christ and His Kingdom in everything you do. It’s time for a faith that is active, not passive, in the face of challenges.
