Discipling Nations Third Edition is Here!
The fully updated and revised third edition
of Discipling Nations is now available
The Disciple Nations Alliance and Darrow Miller are pleased to announce the release of the third edition of Discipling Nations: The Power of Truth to Transform Cultures. This book has made a profound impact on the lives of individuals worldwide over the years.
The third edition offers refreshed statistics, new stories, and updated material from the continuous development of Darrow’s teaching and input from friends over the past twenty years.
An Excerpt from the Preface
The original book was written for relief and development workers and missionaries, practitioners who wanted to help the poor and needed to understand the fundamental role worldview plays in solving poverty. But the book struck a chord with a wider audience. It was embraced by laypeople, pastors, Bible school and seminary professors, leaders in the developing world, students, home schoolers, and professionals seeking to engage the kingdom of God in their circles. I cannot tell you how many readers have told me over the years, “This book has changed my life and ministry.”
It has been such a rich blessing to see Discipling Nations translated into fourteen languages, including Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, and Mongolian. This work has been moved by the Spirit of God and by the gifts of love of people who have been affected by the book’s message.
Many people have asked, “When will you update the book?” For those who have been waiting, here it is. This third edition is offered to all who want to see people escape poverty, watch individuals and communities flourish and nations develop, and be part of the church impacting the community and world—in a word, to see the kingdom advancing. We all need to understand the practical implications of worldview to these processes.
I hope those who have already been influenced by the message of the original book will be further encouraged by this new edition. And I pray that Discipling Nations will alter the life direction of a new generation of readers.
What Others are Saying
Chris Ampadu, PhD
-West Africa Director, Samaritan Strategy
Discipling Nations is a must-read book for all who desire to get to the roots of community and societal problems of nations. The best book I have ever read to understand the irony of Africa poverty in the midst of her blessedness.
-Co-founder and Executive Director of Reconciled World
It would be hard to describe adequately the impact that the ideas found in this book had on my ministry. Almost 20 years ago I first heard these ideas and developed a program based on them to test and see if they were really true. After watching more than one thousand communities move out of poverty, I am happy to affirm, they are true. These ideas, applied, are powerful to bring transformation. I strongly recommend this book to anyone, especially those who are in ministry.
Dr. Eisuke Kanda
-Founder and President of Friends with the Voiceless International
This book was revolutionary in my life because it opened my eyes to see the lies of the Japanese worldview which most of my fellow ministers hold unconsciously, as did I myself. As a result, in order to share and live the biblical worldview, Friends with the Voiceless International was founded. For anyone who wants to be transformed by renewing his mind, this is a ‘must’ book.
Miller takes his readers step by step on a journey of ‘aha’ experiences as he unpacks how different worldviews produce development-friendly, or development-hostile, soil. He does this with obvious love for scripture and for the poor. This is must reading for every Christian working at home or abroad in impoverished communities.
-President of the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, co-host of Breakpoint
Discipling Nations is one of the most important worldview books I’ve ever read. It’s a clear, articulate, and theologically sound application of the Christian worldview to all of life, especially the impact the Gospel can have on communities and nations.
-President and Founder of the Chalmers Center, Professor of Economics and Community Development
Darrow Miller is one of the most influential people in my life. And one of the primary ways he has impacted me is through this classic book. In fact, the older I get, the more I can see the wisdom Darrow has packed into every page. I urge you to take up and read.
